The Reef Watch Story
Chapter One:  Jim Adams fell in love with Jamaica while vacationing there in the 1980's.  He also developed an important friendship with Hubert James.  In 1987 after visiting Jamaica several times and with help from Hubert, Jim purchased a small piece of land in Scarlet Hall, Trelawny about 26 miles from Montego Bay.  Over the next several years Jim built, expanded and beautified the house that is now known as Reef Watch.  Care was taken to make Reef Watch modern and comfortable while maintaining an authentic Jamaican theme.  Most importantly Reef Watch is Jamaican like no resort can be.  It is the only rental home in Scarlet Hall and the goal is to make guests feel as Jamaican as possible.  Throughout the years Jim and his wife Leslie made upgrades to increase the appeal of the house and grounds while keeping things simple and secluded.

Chapter Two:  Sandie and Andrew McLaren made their first trip to Reef Watch in 1998 and returned to the states with a newfound love for the island.  Eight years and four trips later Jim offered them a partnership.  After the details were worked out the papers were signed in May 2006.  The Reef Watch Family had expanded. The Adams and McLaren families share the same feelings about Jamaica, Scarlett Hall and Hubert. Tragically, Jim, our friend and the Reef Watch founder, passed on in May of 2010.  In Jim's memory, Reef Watch will continue to inspire adventuresome travelers. We  encourage you to step out of the conventional holiday model and become a "Jamerican."  There is simply no experience like it.
